Welcome to the first part of our training for Microsoft Office Outlook. Microsoft’s powerful and easy-to-use personal information management program. This version of Outlook incorporates some new features that will help make managing your e-mail and personal information easier than ever. 

  

This course is intended for all persons who need to use electronic mail to send and receive messages. 

 

By the end of this course, users should be comfortable with using and navigating the Outlook interface, performing basic e-mail functions, creating, sending and printing messages and lastly receive and respond to e-mails.

    It is assumed that the learner:

     

    • Understands the basics of using a Windows-based computer.
    • Is comfortable using the keyboard, mouse, and Start menu.
    • Is competent in using generic functions in a Graphical User Interface (GUI)-environment (ID 117902 - NQF level 1).

Important Notes

  • Learners to arrive at the training venue from 08:00 in preparation for 08:30 starting time
  • Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of the proof of payment or an official company purchase order.
  • For full day, on campus courses, Learnfast will supply you with a computer to use for training (if applicable),& tea/coffee and a full lunch. Catering is not included for On-Site training and laptops are available for hire at an additional cost if required.
  • Cancellation or rescheduling requests must be in writing and reach us via email at least 5-10 working days prior to the course commencement date. Full course fees will be retained for no shows.
  • Virtual learners are required to have a stable internet connection & a working headset available for sound purposes.
  • Learners who use their own laptops are fully responsible to ensure that administration rights, software installations, etc. are working sufficiently prior to training.
  • Learnfast reserves the right to cancel or postpone dates if we require to do so and undertake to inform clients in writing and telephonically of these changes.

Module 2: Getting Started with Outlook

While the incredible amount of features that are available in this latest version of Outlook may seem daunting at first, once we cover the basics of working with it, you will be well on your way to becoming an Outlook master.

Module 3: Composing Messages

The first step in this process is to choose who you would like to send the message to. To assist you in addressing an e-mail appropriately, you have access to the address book, as well as other features. Over the course of this topic, you will learn how to create and address an e-mail message

Module 4: Readingand Responding to Messages

Outlook includes a number of different ways in which you can read messages that you receive. While the default settings may work for most people, being familiar with all of the available reading methods can come in handy. Over the course of this topic, you will learn how to customize reading options.
